Halloween 2013

Carving pumpkins, when we started scooping the stuff out, Darci kept saying eww! So Jarret assumed that meant it smelled bad. So he kept plugging his nose saying "eww!"

These pumpkins are the result of our pumpkins we tossed out last year. There was one left that we didn't carve that sat on our porch until Christmas, so Merrill then carved a Christmas tree in it. Then dumped it in the compost pile. Sometime in the spring Merrill was mowing the lawn and went to dump the grass in the pile and notice a "squash plant" sticking out. He then dug it out of the pile and transplanted it in our tiny garden. And there it grew these 3 perfect pumpkins!

All ready for the trunk-or-treat. He did not want to put his costume on, I had to bribe him with a treat and tell him he couldn't go to the party until he put his costume on. After a fight with ripping a hole in the pants, we finally got it on and actually kept it on all night. :)

only got a few pictures, and not the greatest, but it works.

Didn't take this boy long to figure out what it was all about. he was a little shy, and only said "treat" when they weren't looking at him. but he was not shy about digging into those candy bowls when they held it out for him.

My little fairy princess. Her skirt lit up. There was a little button near her belly to turn it on. She thought it was the coolest thing that you just "push my belly and my lights turn on!"

When we were done walking around to all the cars, just went up to all the people walking around in hopes that they were passing out candy. He started to dig his hands into a couple kids candy buckets. He was having too much fun.

Halloween night I took the kids out around our neighborhood, along with my friend Heidi and her boys. Merrill wasn't feeling well, so he stayed home to pas out candy. Jarret was having a blast, although he keeps such a serious face. He had to walk by himself and not hold my hand. And there were 2 houses that had their lights on but never came to the door. For most houses the 2 older kids knocked and by the time the other 2 got there the door was open. But with these two houses Jarret actually got to knock on the door and kept knocking, or ringing the door bell, and when no one came to the door he started yelling/fussing "CANDY!! CANDY!!!" So of course I grab him and took off running away from the house. My crazy child demanding candy at a strangers door! :/

 checking out the goods!
