Well, we arrived at the hospital to be induced at 6 am on mon. The pitocin that they gave me to start labor took a while to start working, so they broke my water at 11:30 am, and started the epidural, then things started moving along. But, didn't want to keep moving, I would go about 4 hours before changes a few times. We were getting close to going in for a c-section, but i was moving along just enough that we kept going. I got an infection that started to show about 11 pm that we had to take care of, which also didn't help with the labor. Finally at about 3:15 I was ready to push. We had to have some assistance from the doc with the forceps, but then she finally came out at 3:38 am on tues. She weighs 7 pounds 15 ounces and is 19 inches long. And as you can see in the picture she has lots of dark hair. Since I had that infection with a fever, she came out with a fever as well, and was also breathing to fast, so they took her to the NICU. They got the fever under control and had started her on antibiotics. she also had a low blood sugar level, which they were able to take care of with no problmes. And she was a bit dehydrated, so they had to put her on IV. They had to put on a CPAP, which gave her oxygyn, they took it off after a bit, and kept her breathing monitered. It was still a bit high, but recently its started going down. Infact I got to hold her for a bit at the NICU and when she got in my arms her breathing went down to normal. And when the put her back in the little bed, it went back up. She loves her mommy!
They are keeping her in the NICU to keep an eye on her and make sure that everything stays under control. She may be there a couple days. I will keep updating as things change.
Here is a picture of me holding her.
